A big thank you to all those that came to see our Jerol Composite Distribution poles at OHLEx 2016

OHLEx 2016, organised by EA Technology, was the "Overhead Lines - Working at the Heights of Safety" exhibition held at Chester Racecourse on the 8th June 2016.

We exhibited at OHLEx 2016 to showcase the Jerol Composite Pole as an alternative to traditional timber poles. The Jerol pole has many benefits over timber. Jerol poles are strong yet light, a great insulator, completely inert and Creosote free. But best of all, they can be installed with the same steel work and distribution equipment that is currently used on the networks.

Signature Jerol Technical Seminar at OHLEx 2016Technical Seminar

We opened OHLEx 2016 with our seminar on “Jerol Composite Poles - range, design, installation properties and positive environmental impact”

Presented by David Franklin, from Signature Ltd (Mallatite) and Anders Hedlund from Jerol, our presentation introduced the range of composite poles that are recognised by many in the overhead lines world as one of the best alternatives to timber distribution poles.

David illustrated exactly what the Jerol Composite Poles is and showed demonstrations of how they can be used. David then covered the merits of composite poles over other alternatives, and the fact that as an inert product they have no detrimental effect on the environment in which they are used.

Anders then went on to highlight the areas of commonality with the use of wood poles in terms of design and installation properties, including the fact that the composite poles can be designed to display very consistent properties.

The investigation and trial works carried out by EA Technology was then discussed, including a test line at Capenhurst.

Finally David gave an update on the progress of working with the DNO’s in the UK, and demonstrated situations where our poles have now been installed by UK DNO’s.

Our seminar was really well received, and with so many interested attendees not all could fit in the room. If you missed it or you’d like to see it again, you can down load it here (LINK) or use the contact form below to arrange a face-to-face meeting.

Electricity Northwest Case Study

On our stand we had a case study video showing the first live UK installation of the Jerol Composite Pole by Electricity North West. Just in case you missed it you can read the full case study here.

Compatible with all timber steel work

The above video with David Franklin shows how all the existing line equipment used on UK timber distribution poles can be used with Jerol Composite Poles with little or no modification.

Why Jerol Composite poles were developed

The above video with Anders Hedlund explains just what goes into a Jerol Composite Pole and why they were developed. Read More >>
