The 5-mile footpath and cycleway runs through the borough from Wick Lane, Old Ford on the boundary line with LB Tower Hamlets to Royal Docks Road, Becton.

The council wanted to make this underused footpath/cycle path safe to use for commuters and local residents so looked to Mallatite for lighting and CCTV columns. Huge sewage pipes ran below the surface along the length of the path meaning that root mounted columns could not be used.

We supplied flange mounted six-meter post top columns for the original pilot scheme which went on to total 267 over four phases to date once everything was approved. We were then asked to design an eight-meter CCTV column that would look similar to the design of the lighting columns and also incorporate a lighting bracket arm at six meters above ground. The design was approved and resulted in 35 columns being installed at various points.
